NWEA MAP Ranking

We are excited to share NWEA MAP results have shown that our students have one of the highest percentages of students that have met their growth percentages in all of Harmony Public Schools.  We wanted to take the time to thank our parents for their support at home and to continue encouraging your students to work their hardest.   We appreciate the hard work our students have put forth and are looking forward to the upcoming Practice STAAR assessments!

Parent SurveyParents:  Please take a few minutes to fill out a school quality survey at http://survey.k12insight.com/survey.aspx?k=QsSPYUQsRSsVPXWSSYXRsP&lang=&ver=new&data=  which will give us valued feedback about academics, student support, parent engagement, diversity, school operations, and the accessibility of school leaders at our campus.

Camp Invention

We are proud to announce that Camp Invention will be hosted at our campus this summer for the second year in a row thanks to the generosity of The Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) and National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) which are providing scholarships for 70 students entering grades K-5 who meet the criteria and are drawn from the lottery.
The AEOP partnership with NIHF provides scholarships for students especially those from underserved communities to participate in the week-long Camp Invention summer program with a curricula focused on developing creative, inventive thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) content.  The program incorporates entrepreneurship and intellectual property along with collaboration and teamwork.  AEOP’s partnership with NIHF started in 2011 by providing about 400 Camp Invention Scholarships at four camp invention sites (Note:  Camp Invention is held at 1,600 schools each summer by NIHF and its partners).  In 2018, AEOP will be providing a total of 1,825 Camp Invention Scholarships across 22 sites across the U.S. through our partnership with NIHF, Battelle, National Science Teachers Association, and selected AEOP Camp Invention sites.  AEOP targets Camp Invention sites that are close to the Gains in the Education of Math and Science (GEMS) to provide a continuum of opportunity for students to take advantage of.  Similar to Camp Invention, GEMS is an AEOP summer enrichment activity taking place at an Army Research Laboratory or Engineering Center.  In San Antonio, AEOP’s GEMS is provided at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research and is open to 6th – 12th grade students.  For more info, see http://www.usaeop.com/sanantonio/.
