We are hosting an information night for current 5th grade students/families who will be going into 6th grade. It will be held on February 8th at 5:00PM in the first floor cafeteria. Topics being covered are: middle school academics, PITSCO career lab, honors courses, clubs/activities and unique technology opportunities.

We invite you to come support the students as they participate in the spelling bee Monday, January 29th, at 3:30 in the fourth floor intervention room.
Students will be MAP testing the week of January 22nd – 26th. Please make sure that your student gets a good night sleep, a good breakfast and comes ready to do their best on the test. The results will be sent home during parent teacher conferences on February 9th. Please see the excerpt on page 42 from our student and parent handbook. It states “students in grades 1-8 must score in both Reading and Mathematics NWEA MAP testing at or above the 10th percentile at least once throughout the current school year. Campus may apply for a waiver for NWEA MAP promotion standard (as low as 7th percentile) within their district. If a student passes STAAR assessments in Reading and Mathematics then that student will be exempt from NWEA MAP promotion requirement”.
In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 1-12 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment.
Nomination forms are available at the front office, or may be downloaded below. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 9, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coach/teacher.
Students will have Spring group pictures on Friday, February 2nd. Please make sure that they come in their uniform. ONLINE ORDER INFO: Parents – the online payment options are different this time. You can pay online but the system does not order the picture so please let the teacher know that you paid online and to add your child’s name to the teacher envelope. Thank you
If you would like to participate in the Basura Bash event to help beautify & clean a portion of San Antonio’s creeks then please visit the front office to sign up, fill out a liability form and pick up your attached information flier. Here is a little more info about the event:

Registration Time: Between 7:15 & 8:00am at site location

Attire: School spirit shirt or colors (but not required), jeans, tennis shoes
